The Last Of Us on TV

The Last Of Us will be the first PlayStation video game to be turned into a show

It’s exciting enough that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on PlayStation 4 by May 29. Now, now. Let me bring you something even more exciting. The Last Of Us is getting the Hollywood treatment, courtesty of HBO! Can I hear a YAY from people who love zombie shows too? This announcement comes as no surprise as gaming is becoming a good source for TV inspiration thanks to hits like The Witcher, Castlevania, and Warcraft.

The Last Of Us TV series will take inspiration from the original game along with adaptions from the first game. The series might also take bits and pieces from the game’s sequel, which is coming out in May.

Neil Druckmann, director of both games, is working on the show as an executive producer. Craig Mazin, creator of HBO 2019 miniseries Chernobyl, will be joining him too. According to the release, Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are also working on the project.

I want to see more video games invade TV!

Video games adaptations have been flooding the big screen for years but found little success. However, it looks like TV could be a more suitable home for character-filled stories from gaming.
