The first movie, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, was a sweet rom-com about a highschool girl, Lara Jean, whose stash of secret love letters to all her old crushes were posted out by her evil younger sister.

But thanks to her sister’s misdeeds, Lara ended up dating the hottest guy in high school, Peter Kavinsky.

What happens now?

In the second movie “To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You”, Lara lives in her very own fairytale, except it’s not quite as fun as she imagined. Dating the most popular and good looking boy in school includes an insane amount of anxiety and stress. Not to mention his crazy jealous ex-girlfriend and on top of that, the sudden arrival of an old crush… John Ambrose, who also received Lara’s secret love letter.

Lara reunites with John when they both volunteer at the same retirement home. John is book-smart, intelligent and super selfless, which is pretty much everything that Peter isn’t. SHOOT! But, but… Lara looks so good with bad boy Peter…

It’s no surprise Lara allows herself to dive into the fantasy of another crush (FYI, her childhood crush) while she tries to work out how to be a perfect girlfriend to Peter. P.S. This is only acceptable in movies. Girls, get your sh*t together okay. In this sense, the movie is pretty accurate about how relationships can be full of self-doubts sometimes.

To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You gets a 7/10 from me

Sadly, we don’t see a lot of action from Lara and Peter because the second movie focuses on John more. I really do miss Peter’s charisma on screen! The sequel doesn’t have much of the aww moments in comparison to the first movie. Also, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You has an ending that feels rushed. But overall, the movie is fun and gives an adequate dose of happily-ever-after.
