The Problem

One word: Technology. Short-form: Tech.

Very memory. So storage. Much processor. Wow. 11/10 will computer.

Is that… me?

Anyway. Here’s the thing: we’re all busy with life. A few of us have jobs, some of us have families, and many of us have other commitments. It’s tough that way. And when you get home, you just want to play that new game you just bought (or just Netflix & chill). So, you boot up the computer.

Then this happens.

It was funny when it happened to a friend.

Then, it happened to me…

But yes. We get preoccupied and we forget to stay updated. Then, when we come back, tech greets us like a good friend and magic tricks begin. All is different and the world suddenly has phones that hover in front of us as we walk. Not quite yet, but it might happen.

So, how do we keep up with an industry that’s constantly changing what’s in and upgrading what’s old? Let’s have a look at some quick tips!

Read

Yes, we know. It’s not very fun especially when things such as Processors, RAM, Storage etc. can be very confusing for beginners. And to make matters worse, things aren’t any easier because technology has its own niche terms and jargons. Therefore, have a focus on what you’re trying to learn.

For example, if you’re looking for Processors; simply have a look at the most recent news you can find. Focus on just comparing Processors for the day. Understand why their numbers are there. Then, when you’re feeling more confident, you can read on about other specs and find out what they do.

Watch Reviews

Another way to skip out on reading is by watching reviews online. With the Internet and life constantly demanding our attention, this is perhaps the easier medium to gain knowledge on specific components and how the tech would function in your own PC build. You can find more of them here at (shameless advertising): Mobhouse Productions.

Watching reviews work well, especially if you’re already familiar with specs and know what the component does. Visuals can help beginners grasp tech jargons and trends more easily.

Also, our team at MOBHouse especially Bosskur Shane is always on social media to chat with you guys should you have any questions. It’s similar to having a private tutor for the hardest subject in school so do hit us up!

Visit the Electronics Store

Sometimes, a Face-to-face communication is the fastest way to stay updated on the latest tech. All you have to do is ask the person manning the store. There’s high chance they’ll know what works and what doesn’t since they’re in the business unless the salesperson just couldn’t be bothered.

This is risky though, because they might just tell you what you want to hear just so they can sell to you the stock they want to clear. It’s unlikely, but do bear in mind that it could happen.

You could first do your own research and then check out the store. This can confirm if your sources and the store are reliable and consistent.
