Aaron Krause from Philadelphia went on to the Shark Tank in October 2012 with a scrubbing product that he believes would make everyday cleaning easier. He was seeking a $100,000 investment in exchange for 10% equity in the Scrub Daddy business. Sharks were mostly impressed with his presentation and product and Aaron walked off with a $100,000 investment in exchange for 20% equity.

This is probably one of the smartest innovation on Shark Tank! The special sponge will change its texture and function as you adjust the water temperature. In warm water, it functions as a traditional sponge. In cold water, it gets more firm and allows you to use it for stubborn stains without scuffing or scratching anything. The sponge is also odor-free (seriously) and very easy to clean. So you don’t need to toss the sponge out for a new one as frequently as you would with an ordinary sponge.

In case you didn’t know, the cute smiley face design isn’t just for show. The little mouth part makes it easy to clean hard-to-reach spots, such as silverware or cups! P.S. Am I the only one who thinks that they need to make a toilet edition of the Scrub Daddy?!

Friends Marc Newburger and Jeffrey Simon invented Drop Stop to keep your keys and phone from falling into the gap in your car seat. They went on Shark Tank to look for a $300,000 investment in return for 15% equity share in their company. Since their appearance on the show, the co-founders went on to sell 2.4 million Drop Stops with $24 million in revenue.

The Drop Stop is one of those inventions that you will randomly think of and wonder why it hasn’t been created yet. Then when you think that if you had access to something like Shark Tank, you could definitely make it happen. Well, someone did exactly that and it worked! The Drop Stop is a foam-filled log that fits into the crack between a car seat and center console. So that if you accidentally drop anything there (let’s face it, you usually do), it won’t disappear into the depths of your car forever.

Founder Rick Hopper’s patented magnetic solution to the all-too-common and expensive problem of misplaced eyeglasses was a hit among his friends and family and ultimately won over Lori Greiner on Season 3 of the show. Rick was seeking $150,000 in exchange for 15% of his company at a $1m evaluation. Lori gave Hopper $150,000 for a whopping 65% of the company, with the assurance that she was uniquely positioned to make him a millionaire. Lori’s prediction was right and Readerest batches regularly sell out on QVC. After Readerest made its appearance on Shark Tank, it made $8 million in total sales in 2016.

Frywall provides home cooks with a splatter-free way of sautéing and frying in the kitchen. As a fan of cooking but not when it comes to cleaning up, Yair Reiner decided to create the Frywall after cooking a particularly splattersome duck breast one day. Donning a Frywall t-shirt, Reiner walks onto the show to introduce himself to the Sharks. He gets right to the point and tells them that he is seeking $100,000 in exchange for 10% of his company.

Frywall never drops its guard, even protecting your stovetop when you stir with a spoon or flip with a spatula. Yet it lets steam escape so proteins can sear without getting soggy. You get the freedom of an open pan with a lot less mess and the Frywall works better than a splatter screen. It is made of BPA-free, FDA-compliant silicone that can withstand heat up to 450°F. Additionally, it’s dishwasher-safe, easy to roll up, and can be stored in its pint-sized sleeve.

6. Nerdwax

Don Hejny and his wife Lydia are ordinary people from Nashville, Tennessee. Don wore glasses everyday and he found himself to be plagued by a fairly common issue amongst glasses wearers. His glasses kept sliding down his face. Although most glasses wearers are used to adjusting their glasses throughout the day, Don wanted better than that. One day, a light bulb went off in his head and he came up with an innovative solution to this common problem. That solution was Nerdwax. Stepping into the tank, the Hejny family was seeking an investment of $80,000 in exchange for 20% equity in their company.

Nerdwax is a beeswax-based “ointment” that comes in a container similar to chapstick. The wax is meant to be unrolled and applied directly to the bridge or nose pads of a pair of glasses, which allows the glasses to remain stuck to your face for an extended period of time. Nerdwax works by creating a layer of friction between your glasses and your skin. So it doesn’t matter what type of glasses you have as long as they fit properly, Nerdwax will keep them in place. Simply rub Nerdwax on the nose pads of your favorite specs or sunnies and go about your day in slip-free bliss!

There are so many ideas out there that area great but unknown by the mass majority

Entrepreneurs and investors get to present their businesses or new products on Shark Tank for sharks to invest in them. There are so many ideas out there that are great but remain unknown by the mass majority… like you and me…

What makes the world go round? (Image source: giphy)

Shark Tank is a simple concept but so entertaining to watch. The panel of Sharks is very distinguished and each of them have their own style when it comes to closing a deal. Just when you think a participant is going to secure a deal with a Shark, another Shark swims in and cuts a better deal. Or when you think an entrepreneur is definitely going to make a deal with a certain Shark, none of the Sharks are actually interested in investing at all.
