After all the teasing, ASUS Malaysia has officially revealed the prices of the ROG Phone 3. Altogether, there are 3 variants with prices starting from RM2,999.
Specs
The display has always been a signature for the ROG Phone. So, of course, the ROG Phone 3 is no exception. It sports a 6.59” 144Hz display with 1ms response time. This comes as no surprise since it is marketed as a gaming phone. It is also surprisingly color accurate with a Delta-E of under 1, which is humanly indistinguishable from perfect.
As for the camera setup, the rear has a 64MP Sony IMX 686 for the main camera, a 13MP ultra wide-angle, and a 5MP Macro shooter. Also, it comes with a 24MP front camera for your selfies and video calls.
A crucial selling point of a gaming phone is the battery life and ASUS definitely delivered here, bringing us a massive 6000 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 and USB-PD charging. This should be enough for extended gaming sessions without needing to charge.
Finally, for the SoC, you have an option of Snapdragon 865 or 865 Plus depending on which model you choose. As for the RAM and storage, the three configurations are 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB. These specs are definitely enough for all of your gaming and multitasking needs.
Pricing
We still remember the RM3,499 starting price point of the ROG Phone II and it was quite a hard pill to swallow for many people. Seems like ASUS heard your feedback and released the Strix Edition, which cuts corners in terms of the CPU, runs on Snapdragon 865, and gives you 8GB of RAM instead of 12GB and 16GB.
