“Girl ah, where to buy face masks in Malaysia?
… I went to so many shops also cannot find.”
To all Malaysians who face the same problem, good news! There are 2 interactive maps that allow you to check which pharmacies nearest to you have face masks in stock. They are Community Pharmacy Map and Where My Mask, which are updated on a daily basis.
Community Pharmacy Map (Face Masks Check)
The Community Pharmacy Map for Face Masks was created by the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS).Â
Stock availability is distinguished based on the colours of the markers, such as red, yellow, and blue.
Red means Available.
Yellow means Unavailable.
Lasty, Blue means Status Unknown.
Let’s give the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society a well-deserved applause for creating something so helpful during a time of crisis.
Where My Mask?Â
The second interactive map that I want to share is called Where My Mask. It features an aesthetic and accessible design, while also providing real-time updates on the stock availablity of face masks in Malaysia.
The statuses are also distinguished by the three colours as the same map data is sourced from MPS. Why is there a need for two platforms? Where My Mask allows you to see more detailed live updates made by pharmacies all across Malaysia, including time-stamps.
Another feature that only Where My Mask provides is its statistics updates of Coronavirus cases from all around the world.
So informative and straightforward! Quick, share this article with your mother so she won’t ask you where to buy face masks in Malaysia again… And most importantly? She can happily blast it in her WhatsApp groups!
Calling all pharmacy owners!
There are a lot of blue markers on the maps because many pharmacies have yet to participate in this movement. I believe it’s because a lot of us are not aware of their existence.
So if you know any pharmacies around you that sells face masks but are not listed on the map, share this article with them! Alternatively, you may contact the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society on their Facebook page to lend them a helping hand.
